Responses

Our deadline for response cards was Saturday. I believe we had 34 maybe that hadn't come in. That isn't too bad out of 161. And of the missing ones, there were several who had emailed or called that they were coming and had forgotten.

"My" list had 8 non-respondents. 2 had been in touch saying they were coming (one had had an emergency appendectomy and found the unmailed card after being "slightly" under the weather for 10 days; the other was trying to figure out how to get here from Kansas City and if she'd be bringing a guest.) Of the other 6, I emailed them late that night. I got two no responses pretty quickly via e-mail. One said the mail monster must've eaten the card because she had mailed it 2 weeks ago. The other said no excuse - he just forgot! I got a yes in person yesterday and a yes via email today. Another we got the reply card today (yes). So there is ONE straggler on my list, and then I can start with table seatings! Well, John has four stragglers, and we will probably have one or two "crossover" tables with our lists - as well as crossover with our parents' lists. We got two other cards in the mail today, and I will probably find out later from my mom whom she has verbally contacted.

But from what I hear, we are doing better than many at this point, so I am happy about that.
